Theodore Vander Groe's sermonic exposition of the Heidelberg Catechism entitled The Christian's Only Comfort in Life and Death: An Exposition of the Heidelberg Catechism, 2 Vols. Vander Groe was a Dutch Reformed divine associated with the Dutch Further Reformation movement. The work consists of expository sermons on the fifty-two Lord's Day of the Heidelberg Catechism that are both doctrinal and practical. Vander Groe explains carefully the language of the Catechism and supports its teaching with appeal to Scripture. The two volumes are translated by Bartel Eslhout and edited by Joel R. Beeke.
